While I was writing my blog post, 100 Great Twitter Tweet Examples, I figured out some things about what tweets caught my eye and how to attract more attention for my tweets.
Some of them were obvious (have great info) and some more obscure, like that people tend to respond more when you use the word “you” because they are alone when they read your tweet.
With that in mind, the Media Monster and I sat down and brainstormed how to make our tweets stand out using special characters like:
- & ampersands
- [Blog Post] callouts
- and over 30 different ways to visually make posts stand out
The other thing we figured out was that adding your personal opinion of tweets and retweets made a huge difference in humans finding it interesting enough to take a peek at…for example (and this was an actual tweet)

With that in mind we brainstormed over 60 exciting words that you can use to “spiff up” your tweets.
